Edge Caching allows you to easily and quickly decide what aspects of your site you wish to cache and for how long. This feature is great if you get a lot of repeat visits to your site, helping to load your content quicker.
There are a few features that you can choose from here:
Global Edge Caching - From here you can turn the cache on or off using the toggle. Disabling this will disable the entire cache and purge the content.
Development Mode - This option will allow you to temporarily disable your cacher. This will last for a period of 3 hours and is great if you need to upload new content to your site or simply make a few changes. After 3 hours the cache will re-enable automatically.
Dynamic Cache - This kind of cache stores entire pages in the server RAM. This is great for sites that are changing content regularly as it saves time by serving the page directly rather than looking up the database on each load.
Custom Cache Settings - This allows you to customise the items you cache and for how long you wish for them to be cached. You can select a time from 1 - 180 days, or to not cache at all.
Purge Cache - This completely removes the cached data for your site. This allows for a fresh copy of the site to be served on reload. This can have the effect of slowing your site until the cache rebuilds.
