Having created a HTML signature for your email you will also need to ensure that you are setting the Editor Type to HTML when composing the email so when the signature is added this is sent as HTML:
Please be aware if the recipient has their email software set to not display HTML then this won't appear as intended when it hits the other end and may show just the code on the page.
